Bahrain Long Distance Cup

FRIDAY 13TH NOVEMBER 2026

• Total Race Value $400,000. Distributed in the following order:
  - $240,000 to the Winning Horse.
  - $80,000 to the Second.
  - $40,000 to the Third.
  - $24,000 to the Fourth.
  - $16,000 to the Fifth.
• 3 years old & up.
• Maximum field size of 14 runners.
• Enter by noon on Wednesday 30th September 2026 – NO ENTRY FEE.
• Final declaration will be done on Monday 9th November, Noon (Bahrain).
  - NO DECLARATION FEE.
  - Declarations to be made to racing@rehc.gov.bh
• Horses need to be rated 90 and above to qualify. *
• Ratings for entry will be taken at time of closing.
• All entries must have run in a race over at least 2200m during their career.
• All entries need to have run a minimum of 4 times, including at least once in 2026.
• Post Position Draw to take place on Wednesday 11th November.
• Four slots in the race will be reserved for domestically trained horses.

WEIGHTS

• Top weight to be 62kgs, with no horse to carry less than 54kgs.
• Weight for age, three-year-olds will receive a weight for age allowance of 3kgs.
• Apprentices may ride but cannot claim.
• Publication of weights on Wednesday 7th October 2026.
• Horses who win a race subsequent to the publication of the handicap may be subject to a penalty (no higher than 2kgs) determined by the BTC handicapper.
• Penalties may be cumulative for multiple wins.

AUTOMATIC INVITATION

The winner of the following race will be granted an ‘Automatic Invitation’ to the Bahrain Long Distance Cup, even if not originally entered:

• Thursday 9th July, Newmarket, United Kingdom – The Bahrain Trophy (Group 3)
