Bahrain International Trophy (Group 1)
First run in 2019 the Bahrain International Trophy heralded a new chapter in the history of horseracing in the Kingdom of Bahrain. In 2026, after just seven years, the race was awarded Group 1 status and has a prize fund of $1.5 million.
The race provides an opportunity to attract the attention of the global sports media and market Bahrain internationally. The race’s promotion to Group 1 status fulfils an ambition and a vision rooted in international collaboration and long-term development with a view to establishing Bahrain as a premier horse racing destination.
The Bahrain International Trophy is our showpiece event and its promotion to Group 1 status is a proud moment for the Kingdom of Bahrain. To have achieved that after only seven years is fantastic and represents another significant step in growing Bahrain’s standing on the international racing stage.
His Highness Shaikh Isa Bin Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa
