Vaccinations

All horses must receive two vaccinations 21-42 days apart (produced by the same manufacturer). Following this they then require booster vaccinations NOT MORE THAN 6 calendar months apart.

This is the same for Equine Influenza (Flu) and Equine Herpes virus.

If horses have been imported from another jurisdiction and are up to date in that jurisdiction they do not have to start again, however do need to be vaccinated NOT MORE THAN 6 calendar months after the last recorded vaccination.

Horses can not race if they have:

  • Incomplete or incorrect primary doses
  • There must be 6 clear days between administration of the last vaccination and racing.

If you miss a 6 month booster the horse will be allowed to race however you will be fined. The horse can then not race until it has completed another primary course.

It is the trainer responsibility to request vaccinations from the Integrity department. Reminders or such, will not be sent to trainers.
